Friends of RPL

The Friends of Rockford Public Library is a non-profit community organization dedicated to supporting the Library and its programs. We promote public involvement and raise money through our bookstores and through our annual book sales.

Anyone can join the Friends of Rockford Public Library. The Friends are community-minded people who wish to offer practical support to advance the Library’s mission.

What we do
Donate our time and talent
Staff two successful book shops
Organize book sales, more recently the hugely successful First Friday with Friends Summer Book Sale
Provide leadership through the Friends of RPL Board
Provide gifts to the Library in the form of grants
Award annually a $2,000 scholarship to a student enrolled in a graduate program for Library Science/Information Technology.
We need more friends!
